Dr Sai Pillarisetti​

Founder & Chair, Board of Trustee, BIDA Student Wing

 

Sai Pillarisetti is a Junior Doctor and Founder of the BIDA Student Wing. He is Chair of the BIDA Junior Doctors Forum and has been serving as a National Executive Committee Member of the British International Doctors Association (BIDA) since 2018.

In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Diana Award - the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts. The award was launched by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown in honour of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Current patrons of the Diana Award include former Prime Minister David Cameron. The award was in recognition of his efforts in starting the BIDA Student Wing, as well as his work on various Global Health issues.

Sai is passionate about addressing inequalities in healthcare systems and in 2017, he helped create the World's FIRST Mobile App on breast health in English & 11 regional Indian languages to help spread awareness of breast health in India. Soon after, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation named Sai as 1 of 5 UK 'Health Legends' and asked him to lead their Global Health Campaign in Lancashire. More recently, he was recognised as a 'Health Hero' by the ONE Global Health Organisation and was invited to interact with MPs in the UK Houses of Parliament.
